The summer season in India has just begun with the Meteorology Department predicting a serious heat wave throughout the country. Now, the best way to beat the “scorching” heat that has been predicted is by planning a trip to a hill station. Now, there are several hill stations within the country that are truly worth visiting. However, there are only a few available in the country capable of providing for relief from the sizzling heat. So, here is presenting a list of few “Indian Hill Stations” worth a visit to beat the unbearable heat expected this summer.

a. Shillong– Meghalaya:

“The Abode of Clouds” is the literal translation of Shillong, a picturesque northeast Indian hill station situated in Meghalaya.Shillong - Meghalaya Located at an altitude of about 1,965 feet above sea level, it is renowned for its beautiful landscape. Furthermore, this hill station is popular for some picturesque tourists spots such as Elephant waterfall, and Mawlynnong Village, and Ward’s Lake. d. Gangtok– Sikkim:

In addition, adventure related activities such as paragliding, river rafting, and cable rides are also extremely popular over here. e. Coonoor– Tamil Nadu:

It also possesses  a rich flora and fauna, and  comprises of spots such as Dolphins Nose, Sim’s Park, Lambs Rock, St Catherine Falls which are popular with tourists.
