Coonoor elevated at an altitude of 1,850 meters above sea level is a scenic hill station located in the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu. This hill station is known to being home to exotic birds such as parakeets, skylarks, Nilgiriverditer and, hence considered to be a “paradise” for bird watchers. It is also renowned for its lush green tea plantations. It also is an ideal base for any trekking expedition leading to the Nilgiris. Since Coonoor belongs to the state of Tamil Nadu the food available over here is typically “South Indian”. So delicacies such as vadai, dosa, sambaretc are popular.
