Devikulam which is formed from two words i.e. “Devi” meaning goddess and “kulam” meaning pond is a scenic and small hill station located in the Idukki district in Kerala. It is elevated at 1,800 meters above sea level and, is located at about 5 km from Munnar.  According to folklore Sita from the epic Ramayana is supposed to have taken a bath in the Devikulam Lake and hence now has been renamed as “Sita Devi Lake”. It is also famous for its exotic flora and fauna. Since this hill station is located in Kerala i.e. “God’s own land” the cuisine available here is typically Malayalee. Local snacks such as banana chips, jackfruit chips, kozhallappam, param puri etc are popular. There are a number of restaurants available in this hill station. A few popular ones are as follows.
