Nestled up in the tranquil hills in the Darjeeling district in West Bengal is a scenic hill station called “Mirik”. According to the Lepcha language “Mirik” means “place burnt by fire”. It is located at an altitude of 1495 meters above sea level. It is popular for its extreme natural beauty and tranquil environment. Since this scenic hill station is located in West Bengal the cuisine available here is essentially Bengali. Apart from Bengali food delicacies such as Hakka noodles, Thupka (a type of soup), a few Tibetan dishes are popular in this region. There are many restaurants in this hill station. A few popular ones are as follows.
