Located at an altitude of 1100 meters in the valley of Satpura Range in Madhya Pradesh is a scenic hill station called “Pachmarhi”. It is also popularly known as “Satpura ki Rani or Queen of Satpura”. This hill station was developed by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army and Subedhar Major Nathoo Ramji Powar which initially was just a plateau. This hill station is also known for providing picturesque views of the setting sun. As for food, a variety of cuisines such as Gujarati, Maharashtrian, Jain etc are available in this area. Local cuisine is also available and some of the popular delicacies include Dal Bafla, Biryani, Kebabs, Bhutte ki Kees, Korma, Rogan Josh, jalebis, ladoos etc. Beverages such as lassi and sugarcane juice are also popular.
