Once upon a time during the 1860’s it was a British superintendent by the name of John Chesson that first discovered a scenic hill station called “Panchgani” located in Maharashtra. This hill station consists of five villages that include Dhandeghar, Godavli, Amral, Khingar, and Taighat and hence the name “Panchgani”. This region does not possess any special cuisine although it is very famous for its strawberries. The cuisines generally available over here include Gujarati, Parsi, Continental, Chinese, Mughlai, Punjabi, South Indian, and Maharashtrian. A wide range in desserts/sweets is also available in Panchgani. Since it is a popular tourist destination a large of restaurants can be observed. A few popular ones are as follows.
