According to Hindu religion, there are seven holy sites of religious significance in the country and, one among them is the city Haridwar located in Uttarakhand. This city is situated on the banks of the sacred river Ganga. It is also popular for a “mela” i.e. a Hindu festival called the “Kumbh Mela”. This festival is celebrated after every three years in grand style. It is also considered to be one of the holiest sites in the country. The cuisine available in this pious city basically comprises of vegetarian “North Indian” food. Although, cuisines such as South Indian, Bengali, Chinese, and Continental are also available. And so delicacies such as Chole Bhature, dosas, aloo puri, kachori etc are very popular. There are a number of restaurants available in this city. A few popular ones are as follows.
