India as a nation has been blessed with diversity in culture as well as in its landscapes. So, be it north, south, east, northeast, or west there are number of spots in the country mainly hill stations that can be termed as “Paradise” for nature lovers. So, here then is presenting an exclusive list of “5” such Indian Hill Stations which are ideally suited for individuals who are genuinely in love with nature.

a. Dharmashala- Himachal Pradesh:

“Bhagsu” was how a scenic hill station known as Dharmashala situated in Himachal Pradesh  earlier referred to as. Located at an altitude of 1475 meters above sea level, it is home to the Dalai Lama as well as the Central Tibetan Administration. Furthermore, this hill station comprises of a beautiful landscape which includes dense coniferous trees mainly the Deodar Cedar. With regards to culture, since the arrival of the 14th Dalai Lama at this hill station following the infamous “1959 Tibetan Uprising”, the Tibetan population has increased. b. Shimla- Himachal Pradesh:

“Shyamala Devi” is the goddess after which Shimla, a quaint hill station in Himachal Pradesh is named after. Elevated at an altitude of 2276 meter above sea level, it was used as the “summer capital” by the British. Renowned for its picturesque beauty this hill station is also known for its colonial architecture, and a number of shrines such as temples, and churches. Furthermore, it is also known for the “Kalka-Shimla Railway”, which has been included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites. c. Mussorie- Uttarakhand:

“1880 meters above sea level” is the altitude at which a picturesque hill station known as Mussorie located in the state of Uttarakhand. Furthermore, due to its scenic beauty it is commonly referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”. In addition, it is renowned for some exquisite “flora and fauna”. It also provides for magnificent views of the magnificent Doon Valley and Shiwalik mountain range. With regards to culture, this beautiful hill station is home to about 5000 Tibetans as of today. d. Almora- Uttarakhand:

“Sanskritic Nagar”  is how Almora a beautiful hill station situated in Uttarakhand is commonly referred to as. Nestled high up at an altitude of 1642 meters above sea level, it was first established by King Kalyan Chand in the year 1568. Furthermore, it is considered to be the cultural hub of the Kumaon region. It also comprises of a scenic landscape and provides for magnificent views of the surrounding Himalaya peaks. In addition, it also possesses a “temperate” climate all around the year. e. Nainital- Uttarakhand:

“Sarovar Nagari” which literally means “Lake city” is the sobriquet given to an extremely scenic hill station known as  Nainital located in Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of 2084 meter above sea level, it comprises of a lake that has been shaped inn the form of a mango. Comprising of a “temperate” weather throughout the year, this hill station is also renowned for its picturesque landscape. It is therefore a combination of “pleasant” climate and splendid landscapes which makes Nainital, one among a few “Indian Hill Stations” ideal for those who intend to relax in the divine presence of nature.
