Climate and the best time to visit Kasauli
The climate in Kasauli ranges from “pleasant summer to cold winters”. During the summers beginning from March and ending in June the temperature ranges from 14 degrees to 28 degrees. The rainfall received during monsoons beginning from July and extending to September is low. While during the winter months of February to November the temperature ranges from 5 degrees to 14 degrees. As such there is no ideal time to visit this hill station and can be visited anytime throughout the year.
Places To Visit Around Kasauli
- Manki Point: Is a major tourist attraction in this hill station. It is considered to be the highest point in the region and hence provides a great view of the surroundings. There is a Hanuman Temple located in this point which according to folklore was the resting area of Lord Hanuman when he was carrying a healing herb i.e. Sanjeevanibooti for Lakshman.
- The Malls: Consists of the Upper and the Lower Malls while, the Lower Mall consists of good hotels, cheap street food, and is a shopping paradise. The Upper Mall is more known for the picturesque views of the valleys and hills that it provides. It also provides nature lovers with the perfect view of the setting sun. The Upper Mall area is also an ideal trekking destination with the beautiful Gilbert Trail beginning at this Mall.
- Gilbert Trail: Is an ideal trekking spot which is known for its beautiful green landscapes and the presence of a variety of colourful birds. This spot is a must visit for bird lovers, photographers, honeymooners, and nature lovers.
- Dagshai: Is a major tourist attraction in this region. It is famous for its natural beauty that consists of hilly terrains and snow clad mountains. It is an ideal picnic spot.
- Kasauli Brewery: Is supposed to be India’s oldest operating distillery for “whisky”. This brewery was first established in 1820’s and is a major tourist attraction in this area. This brewery is famous for the techniques and old equipment like copper pots used during the distillation process.
