Kemmannugundi which literally means “red soil pit” is a picturesque and serene hill station located in Karnataka. It is located in the Chikkamagaluru district at an altitude of 4.705 feet above sea level. It was considered to be the summer retreat of a former King of Mysore called “Maharaja KrishnarajaWadiyar IV” and, so in honor of the king this hill station was given the sobriquet “Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station”. Additionally, this hill station is known for its natural beauty that includes beautiful mountain streams and lush green vegetation.

The climate during the summers in Kemmannugundi which begins in March and ends in May is “hot” with an average temperature of about 35 degree Celsius being recorded. The rainfall received during the monsoons which begins in June and ends in August is “average”. The winter which arrives in October and departs in February is extremely pleasant with the temperature ranging from maximum of 29 degree Celsius to a minimum of 12 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this place is from October to February during the winter.

Hebbe Falls is located at a distance of 10 km from this hill station. This waterfall is located inside a coffee estate and provides for a magnificent view of water gushing down from an altitude of 551 feet. In addition, the lush green environment that surrounds this waterfall adds more charm to its overall beauty.
- Mullayanagiri
Mullayanagiri is a peak (considered to be the highest in the state at 1930 m above sea level) located in this region on the Baba BudanGiri Hills. In addition, a Lord Shiva temple is also located on this peak.
- Z-Point
The Z-point serves as a vantage point in this region, and provides for magnificent views of the green surroundings. In addition, it also allows you to truly relax and enjoy a serene atmosphere.
- Kalhatti Falls
Also known as Kalahasti Falls is located at a distance of 10 km from Kemmannugundi. This waterfall provides for a magnificent view of the gushing water from the Chandra Drona Hill located at an altitude of 122 meters. In addition, a temple devoted to Lord Shiva called “Veerabhadreshwara Temple” is also located at a close proximity to this water fall.
