Climate and the best time to visit Mount Abu
“A pleasant climate throughout the year” is the best way to describe the climate of Mount Abu. The summer months of April to June are not very hot with the temperature ranging from 23 degrees to 33 degrees. During the monsoon season which begins in July and ends in September the rainfall received is “moderate”. While the winters that begin in November and ends in February are cool with temperatures ranging from 12 degrees to 29 degrees. The best time to visit Mount Abu is from February to March and August to November.
Places To Visit Around Mount Abu
- Nakki Lake: Is a lake located at an altitude of 1200 meters. This lake is famous for its tranquillity and is an ideal spot for relaxation. According to folklore, this lake was supposed to have been created with bare hands and nails and hence the name “Nakki”. The rock carvings around the lake are an added tourist attraction.
- Toad Rock: Is located to the south of Nakkilake and consist of huge rock that resembles a toad about to jump into the water. This structure provides a great view of the lake and its green surroundings.
- Dilwara Temples: Is a group of five splendidly built temples that provides for a deep understanding of the Jain religion and culture. This temple consisting of beautiful white marbles was built during the 11th century AD. These temples are supposed of high architectural and religious significance.
- Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary: Is located in the north eastern part of Mount Abu. A variety of animals such as bear, fox, boar, panthers, Sambar deer etc can be found roaming freely in this sanctuary.
