“Hill of the Peer” or Peermade is a beautiful hill station located in the state of Kerala. It is located at an altitude of 915 meters above sea level in the Western Ghats. This hill station is famous for its magnificent waterfalls, open meadows, and pine forests. It was also once used as a summer retreat by the “Maharaja of Travancore”. Climate and the best time to visit Peermade Hills
“Pleasant” is the ideal adjective that can be used to describe the climate in Peermade. During summer which begins in March and ends in May the temperature varies from 29 degrees to 10 degrees. During monsoons which begin in June and ends in August the rainfall received is heavy. While the winter season which begins in November and ends in February can be severe with the mercury at times even dropping below 0 degrees. The maximum temperature recorded during this period being 15 degrees. The ideal time to visit Peermade is either between April to June or between September to November.
