The climate in Saputara remains pleasant throughout the year. The temperature during the summer months March to June ranging from 28 degrees to 38 degrees. The rainfall received during monsoon seasons beginning from July and extending to September is average. During winters which begin in December and ends in February, the temperature varies from 8 degrees to 28 degrees. With pleasant summers, mild winters, and average monsoons this hill station can be visited anytime in the year.
Places To Visit Around Saputara
Pandava Caves: These caves have a mythical background related to the Pandavas from Mahabharata. It is believed that it was in these caves that the Pandavas had settled for a short period of time where they offered prayers to Lord Shiva. There is a Shivling inside the Pandava Caves. These caves are also known as Aravalem caves.
Gira Waterfalls: This place is ideal for indulging in picnic during June to November. The sight of the waterfall gushing down at high speed is fascinating to watch.
Saputara Lake: The Boat Club located here provides paddleboats, sailboats, and rowing boats to the tourists to enjoy a pleasurable boating in the lake. The Sun Rise and Sun Set Points offer an idyllic landscape. This is an ideal spot for picnicking.
Vansda National Park: This is a great place to explore wildlife. It shelters a wide variety of fauna that includes leopards, tigers, rusty-spotted cats, four-horned antelope, giant squirrels, and pangolin.
Lake Garden: This well-manicured garden has some rare species of plants and trees. There is a play area provided for kids in Lake Garden. The garden has a tranquil setting.
Rose Garden: There are a variety of roses in this extremely beautiful garden which is a real treat to the eyes.
Step Garden: This unique garden made in steps is truly a great tourist site to visit. The steps are well decorated nice plants and flowers, and tree pots. There is also a hut for the visitors in the center of the garden where they can stay if they wish to.
Nageshwar Mahadev Temple: The residing deity in this temple is Lord Shiva and a large number of devotees come to offer their prayers.
Purna Sanctuary: This forest is all full of deciduous trees. Bamboo trees beautifully adorn both sides of the path. This is a fantastic place to enjoy nature.
Saputara Museum: Located in the center of the market area, this museum displays the culture and lifestyle of the Dangis tribal people. In this museum, traditional artifact, clothes, utensils, musical instruments, objects, and ornaments used by this tribal group have been preserved.
